Qi Balance Spring Forest Qigong Weekly Classes Qigong class testimonial

This weekly Exercise/Meditation class gives you the opportunity to experience Spring Forest Qigong active exercises and meditations and learn some helpful information to assist you in balancing your body's energy and keeping it flowing smoothly. By practicing in a group, you receive the added benefit of stronger energy. We encourage everyone to practice SFQ with others whenever possible.

Each weekly class is 75 minutes. They are open to both beginners and more advanced students. Dress in comfortable clothes that won't restrict movement. All are welcome Exercises can be modified to be done standing, sitting, or lying down to accommodate individual needs.

Introduction to Spring Forest Qigong

Every one of us has the ability to help ourselves and others to heal mentally, physically, and spiritually. This introductory course is designed to give you a firm foundation into tapping into this unlimited potential.

Join certified instructor Kathy Hanson to learn and experience the gentle exercises and meditations of SFQ Level 1. All of these exercises and meditations are designed to balance the flow of energy in your body and bring you to your best health. Come and see why Dr. Mehmet Oz says, "If you want to be healthy and live to 100, do qigong."

This 6-week introductory course will be held at the Valparaiso Family YMCA on Saturday mornings from 7:30 - 8:30 am. Classes begin on March 2nd and run through April 13th. Registration is available in person at the Valpo Y beginning February 21st.

Qi Balance Spring Forest Qigong Level 1 Workshops Qigong class testimonial

This workshop provides all of the information to successfully practice Spring Forest Qigong Level 1. The teachings include information about Spring Forest Qigong and its history, the 6 causes of blocked energy in the body, and the 3 principles to create a successful practice.

You will gain a basic understanding of how energy flows in your body and the impact your actions have on it. You will also learn all of the SFQ Level 1 Active Exercises and gain an understanding of what each one does for your health.

You will learn Energy Breathing and a very powerful meditation known as "The Small Universe." Additionally, you will learn simple healing techniques to help both yourself and others, and so much more.

This workshop includes an SFQ Fundamentals Kit (an SFQ Level 1 Manual, Small Universe Meditation CD, and Active Exercise DVD) to provide all the materials needed for you to incorporate the workshop's teachings into your daily life.

This workshop is designed to help you strengthen your own energy and also greatly expand your ability to help others with their energy. It provides a wonderful basic understanding of the body's energy systems and how you can work with them to facilitate good health.

You will learn about the Liver, Kidney, Stomach, Breathing, and Heart Systems and the multiple organs that are involved with each system. You will also learn about the significance of color healing, and so much more.

You will learn the Active Exercises for Level 2 SFQ, which are designed to help increase your healing energy and develop your visualization, and Sitting Postures to help enhance your meditation.

Qi Balance Spring Forest Qigong Level 1 Workshops

Individual and group Qigong Energy Balancing Sessions are available with SFQ certified instructor and master healer Kathy Hanson. Sessions are available either in person or by phone. Qissage sessions in person only.

In our energy balancing sessions, Kathy will work with your body's energy, focusing on removing any blockages to restore a healthy, energetic flow. During your session, you will sit comfortably and remain fully clothed, with only your shoes removed. To further benefit your progress, helpful exercises, meditations, or qi~ssage techniques may be suggested.

Qi~ssage Session: 30 minutes

Qi~ssage sessions combine the power of qigong with the art of massage. Your body has hundreds of energy points, but only a couple dozen of them are vitally important in helping you achieve and maintain your optimal health and wellness.

During your session, Kathy will use light pressure and gentle massage, along with the power of the mind and heart, to stimulate these important energy points in a specific order to enhance the flow of energy throughout your body.

Qigong Session: 45 minutes

During this session, Kathy will work with your body's energy using methods tailored to meet your specific needs and preferences. Sessions can be done with or without touch, and with the option of being accompanied by a guided meditation.

Qigong - Getting Started

One of the most common things that I hear from people about starting a new wellness practice such as qigong is, "I'm going to start when _____ because then I'll have more time."

The intention is great, but it has been my experience that if you wait for that "perfect time," it isn't going to happen. There will never be a shortage of things to do or reasons you have no time to take care of yourself.

The truth is, there will never be a better time than right now.

So often we forego caring for our own health because of the needs of others. But to be a great caregiver for someone else, you need to be a great caregiver for yourself.

I like to use as an example something I have noticed with children. Children can be amazing teachers for us if we're wise enough to realize all they have to offer. When we tell our children one thing, but do another, thay are always adept enough to learrn more from our actions than from our words.

You give a great gift for yourself and those who love you when you respect yourself enough to nurture you. How better to show your loved ones to respect themselves?

Spring Forest Qigong has given me an amazing way to nurture my body, mind, and spirit. I feel great, have lots of energy, and I've rediscovered the playful spirit I though I left behind long ago.

I know that I have more to give to people in my life because I know that my own needs are met.
